be set to REM for HRCRD to be functional.
The level of audio volume at the HRCRD can be adjusted by
use of the thumb wheel on the side of the HRCRD.
The HRCRD back light can be turned on with one press of the
round light button. A second press of the light button turns the
back light off.

connected to the 6-pin connector on Battery Box CY-8523C or
the AUX connector of the RT-1523E. This battery box is
required for use of the HRCRD in normal manpack radio
Access to the RT Front Panel is required whenever it is
necessary to change the FCTN switch, to adjust audio volume
at the RT, and to change the light level in the RT display
