need not be requisitioned separately.
c. Stop-Gap Installations. When stop-gap installations are required for maneuvers, special projects, field
tests and emergency situations, or when special installations are required and not listed in this bulletin, requests

a. Radio Set - Basic Unit. The basic unit radio set consists of receiver-transmitters, amplifier-adapters

(1) Tactical Vehicles (Wheeled). The Installation Kit is a combination of items required to install
specific radio equipment in a given type of vehicle.
(2) Combat Vehicles (Tracked)/Electronic Systems. Installation Kits for combat tracked
vehicles/electronic systems consist of radio mountings, cables, antenna, and other selected items required.
c. Installation Harness - Electronic Equipment. The installation harness consists of radio mountings,
cables, control units and brackets installed in combat (tracked) vehicles/electronic systems prior to issue, designed
for use with specific radios in a specific vehicle/systems. Components of the intercommunications system
(AN/VIC-3) (where required) are installed as part of the harness prior to issue of vehicles/systems and remain in
the vehicle/system along with all other components of the harness.
d. Nonstandard Installations. Stop-gap installations are nonstandard or unauthorized installations, which
are required for maneuvers, special projects, field tests and emergency situations.
e. Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS). SINCGARS replaces the
AN/VRC-12 series radios. SINCGARS is available in both manpack (portable) and vehicular mounted
configurations. Vehicular configurations are single or dual RT, short or long range. These configurations are
