Keyboard: Used for entering, holding, and checking data,
FREQ (frequency) button.
ERF (electronic remote fill)

Used to check data in RT. Used to load and
clear SC frequencies and to offset a SC fre-
quency.
Used by NCS only to transmit (send) ERF
to member RT’s.
Used to load and/or check SC offset fre-
quency. OFST not used for FH operation,
which is SINCGARS primary mode of opera-
tion.
Used by NCS only. Used to load and check
RT FH sync time clock.
Used to check and set battery life condition
in manpack radio. When pressed, display
shows remaining amount of battery life. Re-
fer to the battery life condition diagram on
page 2-31.
Used to communicate with RCU. When
pressed, and FCTN is set to REM, RCU
display shows “CALL” and an alarm is heard
in the RCU and RT handsets.
Used for data loading. Transfers data from
RT holding memory into permanent memory.
Operator presses STO to put ERF from NCS
into RT permanent memory (in desired loca-
tion)
Used to load data into holding memory and
to retrieve data from permanent memory into
holding memory. Refer to glossary in the
back of this manual for information on hold-
ing and permanent memories.
