SCOPE
This chapter is applicable to operators and NCS. Chapter 4 contains operating procedures for equipment other than the
radio. It also contains operating procedures for retransmit and scanning. Also included in this chapter is Operation Under
Unusual Conditions, such as unusual weather, fording, and emergency procedures.

INTRODUCTION. The RCU provides remote control of radio. It also provides secure communication compatible with all
configurations (manpack and vehicular). Many of the RCU features and operations are identical to the radio. Refer to the
following illustration of the RCU front panel as needed.
