Tools:
Obtain replacement J1 connector and
o-ring.
Install on J1 connector.
Use long nose pliers and soldering kit.
Attach and solder each wire to correct
pin on J1 connector, and remove wire
tags.
Apply a small amount of silicone com-
pound to o-ring on J1 connector and,
while wet, install connector in chassis.
Install and hand tighten retained hex nut
and IET Iockwasher securing J1 connec-
tor to chassis. Use torque wrench and
7/8-inch socket. Torque nut to 60 in-lb.
Use cross tip screwdriver. Install six
screws, fIat washers, and lock washers
securing Al battery tray CCA to chassis.
Install retained mounting plate on battery
tray subassembly.

REPLACEMENT OF U1 VOLTAGE REGULATOR.
Before and after soldering,
clean wires and pins with
alcohol and cotton swabs.
These were removed in
step b.
